Rediscovering textiles through the arts

Halle Saint-Pierre presents the exhibition "L'étoffe des rêves. Création textile", featuring 300 works by 36 artists from different art movements such as surrealism, art brut and art singulier, offers a new vision of textile art. Weaving, embroidery, tapestry, sewing... artists appropriate these techniques from a variety of materials - synthetic, recycled, natural, raw - and transform them into suspended installations with painted textiles, sculptural fabrics and wall hangings. Each work questions the relationship between time, material and memory. In this way, textiles become a tool for reappropriating identity, art and culture, questioning gender and the boundaries between art and craft. On view until July 31, 2026.
