The reopening of the Palais de la Découverte is scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2027.

Programming will take place in the temporary "Les Étincelles" structure, designed by the Construire architectural studio and installed in the Parc André Citroën (15th arrondissement). The Palais des Enfants is already open and can be visited within the Grand Palais.

The Palais de la découverte, a Universcience site, offers a dynamic presentation of fundamental and contemporary science in the form of interactive experiments with commentary by scientific mediators. Astronomy in the Planetarium, biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and earth sciences are all illustrated, as is the Electrostatics room and the Sun and Planets room. Two new permanent areas: the Light Room, for a more in-depth look at this theme from the angles of chemistry, biology and physics, and the Hydrogen Room, devoted to the applications and challenges of this energy! The Acoustics room: a whole range of experiments led by a mediator will offer every possible investigation into the phenomenon of sound: propagation and speed of sound, structure of simple and complex sounds (organ pipes), harmonic analysis and synthesis, interference and diffraction, the Doppler effect, beats, resonance... Les ateliers du Génome: a place of education and culture dedicated to genetics and DNA.

Closed:

From the end of 2020 (until 2024), the Palais de la Découverte closes its doors. The program will be offered (from spring 2021) in an ephemeral structure "Les Étincelles" signed by the architectural studio Construire and installed in the Parc André Citroën (15th arrondissement).
