Highlighting the Contemporary Vitality of Art Brut Through Collaborative and Participatory Practices
From 11 September to 31 July 2027, the Halle Saint-Pierre will host the Belgian art center “La S” Grand Atelier to explore the concept of “renewed Art Brut,” as theorized by Michel Thévoz. This exhibition highlights the contemporary vitality of Art Brut through collaborative and participatory practices. By bringing together creators—most of whom live with intellectual disabilities—alongside guest artists, the project breaks down labels and deconstructs the boundaries of the art world. Through an approach focused on collective creation, dialogue, and artistic experimentation, it reexamines the legacy of Art Brut to infuse it with a new, resolutely humanistic dynamic.
