The Musée Cognacq-Jay presents a fascinating exhibition on costumes in vogue during the Age of Enlightenment and the place of women in the 18th century

With the exhibition "Revealing the feminine. Fashion and Appearances in the 18ᵉ Century", designed in collaboration with the Palais Galliera, the Musée Cognacq-Jay explores the history of clothing and the image of women in the 18th century. It features costumes and paintings depicting women in portraits, pastoral scenes and fêtes galantes, revealing the fashionable dress of the court, France and Europe, and of the aristocracy and bourgeoisie of the Age of Enlightenment. It also invites us to reflect on women and their place in the society of the time. On view from 25 March to 20 September 2026.
From 10am to 6pm. Closed on Monday.
