Exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay devoted to the first twenty years of Impressionist painter Auguste Renoir

From popular ball scenes to guinguettes, Auguste Renoir never ceased to paint love, festivities, human exchanges and happiness. This spring, 2026, the Musée d'Orsay presents an exhibition entitled "Renoir et l'amour. La modernité heureuse (1865-1885)" (Renoir and Love. Happy Modernity (1865-1885)). It focuses on the first twenty years of the painter's career (1865 to 1885), when he participated in the emergence of Impressionism alongside Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas and Gustave Caillebotte. The exhibition brings together some fifty paintings by the artist, including many masterpieces from the Musée d'Orsay collections, such as "Le moulin de la galette", painted 150 years ago, as well as pieces on loan from prestigious museums around the world. On view from 17 March to 19 July 2026.
From 9.30 am to 6pm. From 9.30am to 9.45pm on Thursday. Closed on Monday.
