The Musée de l'Homme unveils the mysteries of mummification around the world
From 19 November to 25 May 2026, the Musée de l'Homme presents the exhibition-event "Mummies". Through the story of nine mummies, it sheds light on a practice that dates back to ancestral times and is used in many countries, from Latin America to Europe, via Egypt. Visitors can discover the reasons for this practice, the different rites and techniques of mummification, and the research carried out by scientists to unravel the mysteries of mummies. The mummified bodies on display in the exhibition are likely to offend the sensibilities of visitors.
From 11am to 7pm. Closed on Tuesday, 25 December, 1 January and 1 May.
