Unicorns!

Musée de Cluny – musée national du Moyen Âge, 28 rue du Sommerard - 75005 Paris
From 13 March to 12 July 2026

An exhibition retracing the history of the mythical animal, from La Dame à la Licorne to the contemporary imagination.

The Musée de Cluny - Musée national du Moyen Âge is devoting a fascinating exhibition to one of the most famous of all fantastical animals: the unicorn. The "Unicorns!" event plunges into the heart of the medieval imagination to decipher the evolution of the myth, from its symbolic dimension of purity and sacredness to its resurgence in contemporary popular culture. The tour compares the emblematic "Lady and the Unicorn" tapestry cycle - a treasure from the museum's collection - with a selection of historical, scientific and artistic works. It's a richly documented exploration of how this legendary creature captivated Europe for centuries.
