Leonora Carrington retrospective at the Musée du Luxembourg. The surrealist artist who painted her own female myths
The Musée du Luxembourg unveils a major retrospective devoted to Leonora Carrington (1917-2011), an emblematic figure of Surrealism. From her beginnings in Europe to her exile and blossoming in Mexico, the exhibition traces a body of work nourished by oneirism, Celtic myths, esoteric literature and alchemy. The public is invited to explore her fantastic bestiary and complex canvases, offering a feminine and spiritual vision that questions the codes established by the men of the movement. It's a unique journey to the heart of a visionary artist's creation.
Every day from 10.30am to 7pm. Monday evenings until 10pm
