Major retrospective dedicated to Lee Miller: 250 prints retrace her journey from surrealist muse to war photographer

The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris (MaM) is devoting a major retrospective to Lee Miller (1907-1977), an essential and versatile figure in twentieth-century photography. The exhibition traces the incredible destiny of this artist, who was in turn a model in New York, a pupil and accomplice of Man Ray in Paris - with whom she perfected the solarization technique - and then an accredited war correspondent for the American army. Through an exhibition of nearly 250 original prints and archival documents, visitors discover how Lee Miller was able to impose her singular vision, blending surrealist aesthetics with the harsh reality of reporting on the Liberation and the camps. A fascinating dive into the work of a free woman who captured both the elegance of haute couture and the scars of history.
Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Nocturne Thursdays until 9.30pm. Closed on Mondays.
