The exhibition at the Institut du Monde Arabe unveils the secrets of the Cleopatra legend

The new exhibition-event at the Institut du Monde Arabe from 11 June 2025 to 11 January 2026 invites visitors to explore the secrets of the myth of Cleopatra, the famous woman of power and last queen to rule in the Egyptian dynasty of the Ptolemies. A woman of beauty, passion and cruelty, Cleopatra has continued to inspire artists and writers ever since her death 2,000 years ago. Present in all the arts, from literature to opera, painting and ballet, the figure of Cleopatra has spanned the centuries. The exhibition offers an insight into her legend, comparing it with current historical and archaeological knowledge.
