Hanjimania: When Traditional Korean Paper Enhances the Hôtel de la Marine

During Paris Design Week 2026, the Hôtel de la Marine will be the setting for a fascinating artistic dialogue between France and Korea. This prestigious event is part of the celebrations marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea. The exhibition highlights hanji, a traditional Korean paper (soon to be inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list), as seen through the eyes of French and Korean creators. By combining their contemporary vision with centuries-old craftsmanship, this unique collaboration transforms the ceremonial salons into a veritable cabinet of curiosities throughout the exhibition. This artistic immersion finds its olfactory extension in the creation conceived by perfumer Domitille Michalon. On display at the Place de la Concorde, particularly during Paris Design Week and the European Heritage Days.
10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
