Spotlight on black artists in France whose work helped to define modern art

The Centre Pompidou explores, through the exhibition "Paris Noir. Artistic circulations and anti-colonial resistance, 1950 – 2000", the Centre Pompidou is exploring the importance of black artists and their influence in France over a 50-year period. The exhibition features works by 150 black artists of African or American descent, many of whom have never been seen before, and who have helped to define modern art. Visitors will also discover five installations specially created for the exhibition by contemporary artists Valérie John, Nathalie Leroy-Fiévée, Jay Ramier and Shuck One. On view from 19 March to 30 June 2025.
From 11am to 9pm. From 11am to 11pm on Thursday. Closed Tuesday and 1st May.
