The Jeu de Paume in Paris presents an exhibition by British photographer Martin Parr on the environmental crisis
The Jeu de Paume hosts a major exhibition by Martin Parr, a leading figure in contemporary photography. Far from the usual clichés about ecological disasters, Parr offers us a series of colorful, offbeat images that explore our ambivalent relationship with the environment. Over the course of the exhibition, the photographer takes on a variety of subjects, from mass tourism to the consequences of over-consumption, to the omnipresent plastic in our lives. Through his recognizable style, at once ironic and tender, he paints a piquant and often funny portrait of our globalized world, while pointing out the paradoxes of our times. The exhibition questions our own behavior, with the humor and finesse that characterize Martin Parr's work.
Tuesday, 11am-9pm. Wednesday-Sunday, 11am-7pm. Monday, closed. Closed May 1st
