🎯 Les lieux insolites pour faire la fête à Paris

These places are not bars or clubs but from time to time they host one-of-a-kind party nights!

📌 Partying under the Paris ring road

Between Paris and the suburbs, development has flourished close to the ring road. Many open-air venues have sprung up. Most of them promote alternative culture; Virage in the 17th or Kilomètre 25 in the 19th, soon became hot addresses for partying.

📌 Partying at a racecourse

With their vast open spaces, racecourses offer a pristine setting for hosting memorable events. And they are particularly popular for festivals.

The Hippodrome de Longchamp is particularly well-known as it hosts the annual Solidays festival and Lollapalooza (cancelled in 2026 but slated for 2027). In summer, party evenings are regularly held, notably the JeuXdi by ParisLongchamp in spring and in summer. The electro festival Peacock Society takes place at the Hippodrome de Vincennes. All year round, these atypical venues play host to open-air party nights.

📌 Partying in a museum or a cultural venue

Museums celebrate culture - all cultures - and even the nightlife scene! It’s not unusual for major landmark venues to open their doors in the evening to host original party nights in Paris. The collective Artklub has already staged electro at the Centre Pompidou and at the Philharmonie de Paris.

The Musée d'Orsay, Grand Palais, Musée du Quai Branly, Gaîté-Lyrique, Atelier des Lumières and the Musée Guimet are no strangers to the party scene. For the European Night of Museums, which takes place on 23 May 2026, the Musée Rodin is organizing a DJ set in the museum’s garden. Later in the year, the Domaine du Palais Royal welcomes the DJ set of Peggy Gou on 13 July 2026!

📌 Party on the Petite Ceinture

Over the last few years, the Petite Ceinture has become a popular place for brunch, an afternoon game of pétanque or partying late into the night. Most places offer a variety of events, ranging from social and cultural gatherings to community initiatives and celebratory occasions.

These include Hasard Ludique, a former train station on Avenue de Saint-Ouen, and the REcyclerie, both in the 18th, but also TLM , the lively third place on the Petite Ceinture on Rue Curial, in the 19th and Voie 15, in the former train station Vaugirard-Ceinture. The former Flandre train station, at La Villette has been converted into a double club: La Gare, a venue for jazz and Le Gore, a nightclub tucked away on the lower ground floor, hence the name La Gare - Le Gore.

📌 Party on the Seine and along the quaysides

Paris’s quaysides have always been lively spots with bars and places to party. The most well-known? The Bateau Phare (formerly Batofar), the Mazette, the Petit Bain, Paname sur Seine and more.

The nightlife scene also spills onto the quays when pop-up terraces open and night owls flit from one to the next: Port de la Gare, Quai François Mauriac, Port des Invalides home to Rosa Bonheur sur Seine… Even more original, Le Barboteur is an itinerant barge with a terrace that is set up wherever it docks: in the 19th, Pantin, Bobigny… A venue to follow, then! And for more experiences on the water, discover out-of-the-ordinary accommodation in Paris.

Every summer, Paris Plages and Summer on the Canal offer a fantastic line-up, day and night, on the Seine quaysides and Parisian canal banks. Greater Paris also has its share of events. In Epinay-sur-Seine, the third place Fabrique Bannier organizes festive events and musicon the Seine riverbanks.

📌 Partying in parks and gardens

Parks and gardens are frequently the setting for festive events, often free to the public. The Parc de la Villette has an extensive programme of events across its various esplanades, especially in summer. Festivals are often held in these vast green spaces. The festival We Love Green takes place in the Bois de Vincennes, and the Parc de Saint-Cloud plays host to Rock en Seine. As for La Clairière, it hosts big party events in the Bois de Boulogne.

📌 Partying in cinemas

Cinemas aren’t just about films. You can also enjoy… music there. The Rex Club, a reference for electro in Paris, is on the lower ground floor of the Grand Rex, a celebrated art deco cinema on the Grands Boulevards. Some landmark venues also welcome events such as the pop-up cinema Paradiso at the Louvre or the Seine Musicale. Occasionally, the UGC Ciné Cité Bercy is transformed into a giant dancefloor, for an evening.

📌 Partying in other unusual places

Chateaux also pull out all the stops to create memorable party nights. Fontainebleau, Versailles, Chantilly… Whether it’s electronic music nights or even more unusual events where guests dress up in costume, these historic landmarks prove that they are not just a thing of the past!

Close to Adidas Arena, a venue built for the 2024 Olympic Games to host the badminton and rhythmic gymnastics events, Central Chapelle is a new music and food hotspot.

Also, with their wide-open spaces brownfield sites remain a popular choice for parties, such as at Cité Fertile, in Pantin. The Kilowatt, in the Ardoines industrial estate in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), has also made a name for itself.
In Aubervilliers, on the edge of Pantin and Bobigny, the Fort d'Aubervilliers (an old fortification) has been converted into a venue for celebratory events.

Finally, Paris has witnessed many a memorable evening in venues that are usually closed to the public, such as manor houses and even the city’s Catacombes!
