The flagship festival in north-east Paris returns for an extended 19th edition, organized around seven different universes to explore the canals in a different way.

From June 27 to August 9, 2026, L'Été du Canal will once again transform the Ourcq Canal, the Saint-Denis Canal, and the banks of the Seine into a vast urban seaside resort. For its 19th edition, the festival is breaking new ground with a program structured around seven themed weekends, offering a weekly immersion into a different world: sports, street art, heritage, or Olympic culture. From La Villette to Bobigny via Saint-Denis, the festival offers a wide range of free or low-cost activities. Highlights include the famous river shuttles for €1 or €2 on weekends, festive cruises (with DJ sets and brunch), community dances, cultural walking and biking tours, and creative workshops. Whether you’re looking to relax on the lounge chairs at the water parks or seek artistic adventures along the murals of Street Art Avenue, the event celebrates the art of living by the water all summer long. The “Canal en pagaies” event, originally scheduled to kick off the festival, has been canceled due to the extreme heat forecast for Saturday, June 27, 2026.

📌Canal en pagaies kicks off the 2026 Canal Summer (cancelled)

On Saturday 27 June 2026, Canal en pagaies launches the Canal Summer - for the second year running - with a 10-kilometre crossing between Sevran and Pantin. Exclusively reserved for small boats, the canal will become the setting for floating concerts and travelling stages, featuring DJ Jujustar among others. With tickets starting from €15, this year’s event is also open to pedestrians and cyclists, who can enjoy the entertainment from the banks.
