Paris celebrates fashion in all ways, from major exhibitions dedicated to haute couture, designers, or the history of fashion, to public events and Fashion Week. Read on to make sure you don’t miss any of these top events in 2026.
In 2026, fashion is stealing the show in Greater Paris. From time-honoured craftsmanship to contemporary designs, the Paris metropolis celebrates the art of fashion through an exceptional programme that showcases leading fashion designers and exceptional artisans.
Among the highlights, the Palais Galliera presents a series of three exhibitions on the craftsmanship and techniques used in the fashion industry through museum collections. The first in the series Weaving, embroidering, embellishing. The Crafts and Trades of Fashion, devoted to decorative crafts, runs until 18 October 2026. Following on from this, Fashion in the 18th Century. A Fantasized Legacy (from 14 March to 12 July 2026), explores the lasting influence of this prolific century on our way of dressing and on contemporary fashion.
The Musée des Arts décoratifs with its La Mode en Majesté. Royal Thai Dress from Tradition to Modernity presents rare outfits from the royal collection, from 13 May to 1 November 2026. At the Musée des arts de la Mode, the exhibition ‘Look, 40 Years of Fashion at the Museum’ celebrates four decades of fashion design through 40 iconic looks, from 30 September 2026 to 4 April 2027. ‘Rafael Pavarotti photographe’, from 2 October 2026 to 2 May 2027, focuses on the Brazilian photographer who left his mark on the fashion world with iconic images of brands such as Dior, Balmain, Margiela, and Ferragamo.
The Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac showcases world textile arts in the exhibition A Traveling Thread recounted by Sheila Hicks and Monique Lévi-Strauss whilst Africa Fashion imagined by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London celebrates the richness of African fashion and designers (from 31 March to 12 July 2026).
Galerie du 19M invites visitors on a journey with Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris, from 29 January to 26 April 2026 and creates a conversation between French artisans and Japanese designers. The Fondation Azzedine Alaïa pays tribute to couturier Christian Dior until 24 May 2026, with Azzedine Alaïa and Christian Dior, two masters of Haute Couture, an exhibition echoing that at the Galerie Dior : Azzedine Alaïa’s Dior Collection, until 17 May 2026. The heritage of fashion is also on display at the Musée d'histoire urbaine et sociale de Suresnes with Chez Worth, the Origins of Haute Couture (until 21 June 2026). 'The Stuff of Dreams’' which runs until 31 July 2026 at Halle Saint-Pierre brings together a host of artists from art brut, art singulier, and surrealism who reinterpret textile art through original and poetic creations. The Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain invites Olivier Saillard director of the Fondation Alaïa to revisit the history of fashion from 6 to 21 March 2026.
At the musée Cognacq-Jay the exhibition ‘Revealing Femininity: Fashion and Appearance in the 18th Century’ from 25 March to 20 September 2026, showcases the fashionable outfits of the Enlightenment era while exploring the role of women in society at that time. A major retrospective dedicated to the Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace will be on display at the Musée Maillol from 5 June to 6 September 2026, offering a comprehensive overview of his career almost 30 years after his death. At the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, from 7 October 2026 to 17 January 2027, Penn & Fashion explores the photographer's perspective on fashion.
In 2026, Paris Fashion Week reaffirms the capital’s status as the global hub for creativity!
Organized by the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion, the event has several highlights. The Autumn/Winter 2026–2027 Men’s fashion shows open the season from 20 to 25 January 2026, followed by the Spring/Summer 2026 Haute Couture shows, from 26 to 29 January 2026. The Autumn/Winter 2026–2027 Women’s fashion shows take place from 2 to 10 March 2026, while the Men’s Spring/ Summer 2027 fashion shows takes place from 23 to 28 June 2026, followed by the Autumn/Winter 2026-2027 Haute Couture shows from 6 to 9 July 2026, and finally the Women’s Spring/Summer 2027 fashion shows from 28 September to 6 October 2026.
Fashion shows fill iconic venues across the capital, from the Louvre to the Grand Palais. But even without an invitation, this fashion extravaganza can be experienced by the general public in the streets and at numerous events open to the public.
In Paris, fashion isn't something you only experience at exhibitions. Department stores offer a world of fashion as do public events. Keep these dates on your calendar to explore the fashion scene in a whole new way.
On a shopping trip, you might wander through the Galeries Lafayette Paris and Printemps stores on Boulevard Haussmann, but nothing beats a guided tour to discover what goes on behind the scenes, including secrets and anecdotes. Expert guides offer guided tours at Printemps, and Galeries Lafayette (tours in English or French) or both stores together (tour in French only) offering visitors a chance to discover the history and architecture of the stores, including their famous neo-Byzantine domes and terraces with panoramic 360° views of the capital.
Galeries Lafayette also invites fashion fans to attend a fashion show at the department store on Boulevard Haussmann. This exclusive experience offers a taste of Fashion Week all year round. The 30-minute show starts at 3pm on Fridays. To attend, you must book in advance.
The European Artistic Crafts Days are among the world’s leading international events dedicated to promoting arts and crafts. Elles font la part belle aux savoir-faire d'exception et à l'artisanat notamment dans l'univers de la mode. They showcase exceptional craftsmanship and artisanal skills, particularly within the fashion industry. The new edition, from 7 to 12 April 2026, provides visitors with the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas about these creative professions, and to discover workshops and demonstrations. Keen enthusiasts can visit 19M to take part in workshops at the Lesage School of Artistic Embroidery, which embellishes the most beautiful garments from leading fashion houses and designers.
Twice each year in Paris, in summer and in winter, top fashion brands offer discounts during four weeks of sales: at Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores on Boulevard Haussmann, La Samaritaine on the Seine, Le Bon Marchéon the Left Bank, major brands on the Champs-Élysées, trendy shops in the Marais, opulent boutiques in the Golden Triangle and luxury stores on Avenue Montaigne. In 2026 the winter sales run from 7 January to 3 February 2026, and the summer sales from 24 June to 21 July 2026.
