The Foundation is located in the heart of the Marais, in a late 19th and early 20th century building complex where Franco-Tunisian fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa (1935-2017) lived and worked. Its mission is to preserve the work of the couturier Azzedine Alaïa as well as all his personal collections (costumes and clothing from the 19th to the 21st century, photographs, works of art and design). Throughout the year, the Foundation presents exhibitions of fashion, photography and design under a large glass roof and in the room adjoining the Studio, which visitors can observe through a window. A bookshop offers a wide range of books on fashion, art and design. A café-restaurant welcomes visitors in a green courtyard and in the bookshop area.
