A spotlight on the career and world of the Italian stylist and designer, through his creations, inspirations and influences
From 5 June to 31 October 2026, the Maillol Museum is hosting the largest French retrospective dedicated to Gianni Versace since 1986. The exhibition showcases the Italian designer’s entire body of work, presenting nearly 450 remarkable and opulent pieces - original designs and silhouettes, accessories, sketches, decorative objects, photographs and even rare videos and interviews - almost 30 years after his tragic death. This spectacular retrospective highlights the many sources of inspiration that shaped the designer’s world, from the family workshop in Calabria to his passion for the Baroque, via the iconography of the Catholic faith and his love for Greco-Roman antiquity. It also explores his connections with the major figures of popular culture of the time, such as the iconic Elton John, George Michael, Madonna, Prince and the supermodels Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer…
