Between the great classics, revisits, family shows and new creations, the shows are all in song this autumn in Paris! See The Lion King, Dirty Dancing, Hello Dolly, Les Misérables and many other musicals again and again this autumn.
At Lido2Paris, it's Hello Dolly from 7 November 2024 to 5 January 2025. This famous comedy recounts the adventures of matchmaker Dolly, played in the past by such greats as Barbra Streisand and Bette Midler, as she tries to find the soulmate of a rich, grumpy bachelor. This new version, produced by Stephen Mear, the great master of the genre whose work includes 42nd Street at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
The Théâtre du Châtelet is also hosting a great classic from 22 November to 31 December 2024: Les Misérables. Based directly on Victor Hugo's masterpiece, this musical has already attracted over 130 million spectators worldwide and has been adapted dozens of times since its premiere in 1978. In this new version, the team has added its own personal touch while remaining faithful to the original. The perfect opportunity to rediscover this monument to literature.

Dirty Dancing, the cult film since its release in 1987, returns to Paris in a musical comedy version, performed on the stage of the Dôme de Paris - Palais des Sports from 22 November 2024 to 26 January 2025. It's a chance to revisit the original story of Bébé and Johnny for a summer of dance, freedom and song.
Original and eagerly awaited, from 10 October 2024 to 10 November 2024, the adaptation of the film La Haine plays at the Seine Musicale in Boulogne Billancourt. This lively, immersive production by Mathieu Kassovitz will feature 14 scenes from the cult film that marked an entire generation.
As for the tribute to music, there are several choices from very different worlds on the bill.
Joséphine Baker takes centre stage at the Bobino theatre from 16 October 2024 to 29 January 2025 in the show Joséphine Baker, the Musical. Performed by a troupe of a dozen artists, it retraces the history and life of this extraordinary woman. After moving to France from Missouri, she quickly made a name for herself as a dancer and singer, and went on to become one of the leading figures of the Belle Époque. This musical pays tribute to her free, committed, multi-faceted personality and her incomparable energy. A colourful show that leaves you speechless.
A monument to French chanson, Michel Sardou has given rhythm to the lives of many French people, and this is what the musical Je vais t'aimer, dedicated to him, highlights. Taking place at the Casino de Paris from 19 September 2024 to 16 October 2024, the show features several characters recounting their loves, travels and peregrinations to songs by the artist. The reasons for its success? The soundtrack that everyone knows, the dynamic performers, the breathtaking sets and the elaborate costumes.
But there's also the dynamic Blacks Legends, which pays tribute to black American music and tells the story of the many protagonists who fought for their rights and freedom in the 20th century. Nina Simone, Michael Jackson, Prince, Beyoncé or James Brown... a dynamic, colourful show to be discovered at the Bobino theatre from 14 November 2024 to 5 January 2025.
Emblematic of a generation rocked by Salut les Copains, Twist has left no one indifferent. The new musical, running at the Eiffel Tower theatre from 3 October 2024 to 5 January 2025, is a declaration of love to the Twist Years and to a joyous, free-spirited way of life. Finally, we discover new horizons with Ulysse, l'odyssée musicale, held at the Théâtre des Variétés from 6 October 2024 to 27 April 2025. The most famous epic in history is presented in a magnificent musical setting.

There's plenty of choice when it comes to family sing-alongs! Like the iconic musical The Lion King, which will continue to delight audiences at the Théâtre Mogador from 27 September 2024 to 31 January 2025. A veritable triumph since it was first staged in 2007, it has already been seen by over 100 million spectators worldwide. The sets, costumes, staging and songs leave stars in the eyes of young and old alike.
The Pink Soldier is also back, 15 years later! From 27 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, the musical comedy for children imagined by Louis Chedid takes over the Palais des Congrès in a brand new production by Julien Alluguette, winner of a Molière in 2018. The Pink Soldier tells the story of the magical encounter between little Joseph and a toy, the Pink Soldier, that no child wants to buy.
There's also a musical version of the Madagascar cartoon at the Théâtre du Gymnase in Paris from 19 October. Penguins, lion, giraffe... everything to please children! You'll embark on a journey of mischief and magic. From the age of 3, children can see their First Cabaret at the Paradis Latin, on show from 19 October to 29 December 2024. Finally, Denver, le dernier dinosaure (Denver, the last dinosaur) is a date with the dino rocker, to be seen with the whole family at the Théâtre de la Renaissance from 12 October.
Musicals are performed just about everywhere in Greater Paris. But some theatres promise a programme that focuses particularly on musicals. This is true of the Mogador, Châtelet, Marigny, Gymnase and Renaissance theatres. But the Grand Rex, Palais des Congrés, Bobino, Dôme de Paris, Seine Musicale, Casino de Paris and Lido2Paris also offer at least one musical per season.
In 2024, there are many musicals to be found at the Théâtre Mogador, starting with the iconic Lion King, but also many shows at the Théâtre de la Renaissance or the Gymnase, which regularly host shows for families. You can find a selection at the end of this article.
The Lion King musical has been delighting young and old alike since 11 November 2021. With over a million spectators, it returns for its third season at the Théâtre Mogador from 27 September 2024 until 31 January 2025. On the strength of its success, extensions and a fourth season are sure to be eagerly awaited.
