"The Phantom of the Opera" comes to the Théâtre du Gymnase in a version reimagined by Benoit Solès. Original songs, mystery, and passion set in late 19th-century Paris
From October 8, 2026, to January 17, 2027, "The Phantom of the Opera" returns to haunt the Parisian stage and takes up residence at the Théâtre du Gymnase Marie Bell in a new production entirely reimagined by Benoit Solès ("La Machine de Turing"). A legendary tale that received eight nominations at the 2026 Musical Theater Awards, this production plunges audiences into the heart of late 19th-century Paris, behind the scenes and into the secrets of the Palais Garnier. We discover the intertwined fates of an ingénue opera singer, a vicomte in love, a flamboyant diva, an ambitious director… and a masked Phantom lurking in the shadows of the Opera’s basement. The original songs composed by Marc Demais with lyrics by Pierre-Yves Lebert bring this enchanting world to life. The show is recommended for ages 6 and up and features English and Chinese subtitles for non-French-speaking audiences.
