38 boulevard Bonne Nouvelle - 75010 Paris
Opéra - Grands Boulevards
Inaugurated in 1820, the Théâtre du Gymnase served as a place for training music academy students, only at first performing one-act plays. From 1939, the Gymnase allowed for the creation of numerous works from Marcel Pagnol, Jean Cocteau, Marc-Gilbert Sauvajon, Sacha Guitry, Félicien Marceau and Jean Genet. Today, situated on the Grands Boulevards and listed as an historic monument, this theatre's programme gives prominence to comedies.
