Fireworks displays, fountains...: the Palace of Versailles has something exciting for visitors all summer long

The Domaine de Versailles is pulling out all the stops for its summer programme! Festive events, musical shows and exceptional evenings are being organised throughout the summer, until the end of October 2026. Visitors can attend the "Musical Fountains Show", the "Fountains Night Show", discover the Versailles Festival or take part in a costume ball... Details of the festivities not to be missed!

🎯Musical Fountains Show

📌Every Saturday and Sunday from 3 April to 1st November 2026, every Tuesday in May and June and certain public holidays

The Musical Fountains Show invites visitors to stroll through the gardens of Versailles that the Sun King was so fond of. An invigorating walk past ornamental ponds and fountains, which for a few hours regain all the past glory and splendour of the court of Louis XIV, thanks to the expertise of water-fountain engineers. Waterfalls, jets and sprays of water spring forth in a crystal clear aquatic dance to the sound of music by Lully.

Morning launch:

  • Grand perspective: 10.30am to 12pm
  • Groves and ponds on the south side: 10.30am to 11.30am

Afternoon launch:

  • Grand perspective: 2pm to 2:30pm, 3pm to 4:15pm, 4:45pm to 5pm
  • All the basins and bosquets: 2.30pm to 3.15pm and 4pm to 4.45pm
  • Historical finale at the Bassin de Neptune: 5.20pm to 5.30pm

Automatic fountains on all day:

  • Bassin de Neptune: 10am to 7pm
  • Bassin du Miroir: 10am to 7pm
  • Bosquet du Théâtre d'Eau: 10am to 7pm

🎯The Musical Gardens

📌From 1 April to 30 October 2026, from Tuesday to Friday except Tuesdays from May to June 2026 and except certain public holidays

The Musical Gardens event invites visitors to discover preserved areas of the Versailles Estate, with its French-style formal garden designed by the landscape architect André Le Nôtre. A chance to discover groves and other features: sculpture, architecture, fountains … on a musical promenade.

  • Groves open: 9am to 7pm
  • Opening of the Neptune pool: every 15 minutes, from 10am to 6.45pm*
  • Flooding of the Miroir pool: every 10 minutes, from 10am to 7pm*
  • Flooding of the Théâtre d'Eau grove: from 10am to 7pm*

*except on 28, 29 and 30 October 2026: ends at 5.30pm.

🎯Fountains Night Show

📌Every Saturday from 6 June to 19 September 2026 and on 14 July 2026

At dusk, the Fountains Night Show unveils the charm of the gardens of Versailles … Lighting and stage effects artists and a group of fireworks experts, the ‘Groupe F’, create a stunning ephemeral itinerary of visual, sound and aquatic installations with a fireworks finale under the starry sky of the Versailles Estate, to the sound of baroque music.

  • Opening, music and flooding of the Grande Perspective: from 8.30pm to 11.05pm
  • Final fireworks display in front of the Grand Canal: from 10.50 pm to 11.05 pm.

🎯250 years of American independence in Versailles

In 2026, the 250th anniversary of American Independence will be celebrated at the Palace of Versailles! On 4 and 5 July 2026, discover the historical reconstruction of American Independence in the Trianon gardens. And don't miss the Grandes Eaux Nocturnes de l'indépendance américaine show on the evening of 4 July 2026, American Independence Day.

🎯 Return to Hogwarts in the gardens of Versailles

To celebrate 25 years of the film saga, the Palace of Versailles is hosting the ‘Return to Hogwarts’ event. This exceptional day offers immersive activities in the gardens and the Orangery, ending with a unique fountain and light show during the Grandes Eaux Nocturnes, entirely reimagined in the colours of the famous wizard.

  • 29 August 2026, day and evening

🎯Royal serenade in the Hall of Mirrors

📌Every Saturday from 6 June to 19 September 2026 and on certain public holidays (Monday 14 July and Friday 15 August 2026)

Just before The Fountains Night Show or after the Musical Fountains Show, dancers from the company L’Eventail and musicians from Les Folies Françoises invite visitors to accompany them from the Royal Apartments to the famous Hall of Mirrors. A circuit punctuated with theatre sketches portraying the customs and habits of the court in the 17th century.

  • 50-minute visits: at 6.30pm, 6.50pm, 7.10pm, 7.30pm and 7.50pm

In 2026, the gardens of the Château de Versailles will be hosting a number of exceptional evening events. For example, electronic music will bring the gardens of the Château de Versailles to life for an original musical stroll. The fountains will be flooded and a fireworks display will punctuate the evening.

What could be more exciting than slipping into the shoes of a character from the Ancien Régime for an evening? On 25 May 2026, the Château de Versailles is organising its Fête Galante in the Galerie des Glaces, with demonstrations, period dance classes, a ball and fireworks, all dressed in period costume. For the more passionate, a grand masked ball is being organised on 27 June 2026, from 11.30pm until dawn!

There are several options for getting to the Palace of Versailles from Paris:

  • RER C: the most direct from various Parisian stations: Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, Saint-Michel - Notre-Dame, Musée d'Orsay, Invalides, Champ-de-Mars - Eiffel Tower... Get off at the ‘Versailles Château - Rive Gauche’ station and walk 10 minutes.
