An exhibition at the Petit Trianon celebrates the 20th anniversary of Sofia Coppola’s cult film, which reimagined the image of France’s last queen

The Palace of Versailles is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of Sofia Coppola’s film “Marie Antoinette” by hosting an exhibition at the Petit Trianon dedicated to this cinematic work, which reimagined the image of France’s last queen and won the Oscar for Best Costume Design. This is a unique opportunity to see Milena Canonero’s original costumes, props, and photographs from the shoot, as well as annotated screenplays and set sketches. Scenes from the film are screened in the very locations where they were shot, offering a immersive experience that blends history and fiction. Don’t miss it from 22 September to 24 January 2027.
Through 31 October: from 12pm to 6.30pm. From 1 November to 24 January: from 12pm to 5.30pm. Closed on Monday, 25 December and 1 January.
