Appiani (1754-1817): Napoleon's painter in Italy

From 16 March to 28 July 2025, the Château de Bois-Préau in Rueil-Malmaison is presenting the first retrospective dedicated to the Milanese artist Andrea Appiani, one of the most talented neoclassical painters and decorators in northern Italy in the 18th and 19th centuries.
As the official portrait painter of Napoleon in Italy, he portrayed him as a conqueror, glorious and powerful.

How do I get from the La Défense district to Sèvres?

To get from La Défense to Sèvres, take tram T2 towards Porte de Versailles and get off at Musée de Sèvres. You can also take metro line 1 to Pont de Neuilly, then bus 471. Alternatively, the RER A to Saint-Cloud then bus 160 also works.
