Reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris

Discover the 10-day programme of celebrations to mark the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris to the public from 8 December 2024!

From 8 to 15 December 2024, the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris reopens its doors for an octave of exceptional liturgical and nocturnal celebrations, after 5 years of closure. Special masses presided over by the archbishop, including the consecration of the altar, will be attended by the faithful, patrons and guests of honour. And Friday 13 December 2024 marks the return of the crown of thorns! Night-time visits until 10pm - from 8 to 13 December 2024 - and until 8pm - on 14 and 15 December 2024 - offer a unique opportunity to rediscover this restored jewel of Paris. From 16 December 2024, the cathedral will return to its normal opening hours. At the end of the octave, on 17 and 18 December 2024, the cathedral choir will perform Bach's ‘Magnificat’ for two exceptional concerts... 10 days of celebrations to celebrate the diversity and fervour around this emblematic monument.
