In all the green spaces across Greater Paris, there are plenty of sports activities to enjoy. If you fancy a bit of exercise, the green spaces are equipped with free-to-use sports facilities: cycle paths, football pitches, tennis courts, golf courses, fitness trails, signposted hiking trails, table tennis tables, boules courts, skate parks, water sports centres… The choice is yours!
And for running enthusiasts, all the green spaces as well as the banks of the rivers and canals of Greater Paris can become your running track. Once you’ve got your trainers on, it’s time to hit the road!
If you’d prefer to take part in classes led by a qualified instructor, that’s also an option. Throughout the year, a wide range of activities are organised in parks and gardens across the Greater Paris area. These include the “Sunday morning sports sessions” held in certain green spaces in the capital: jardin du Luxembourg (6e), parc André Citröen (15e), parc Rives de Seine…
In western Paris, the ‘Let’s Run in the Hauts-de-Seine Parks’ programme offers free fitness sessions every weekend from September to June in several of the department’s green spaces: the Île Saint-Germain Departmental Park in Issy-les-Moulineaux, the Parc départemental des Chanteraines in Villeneuve-la-Garenne, the Domaine départemental de Sceaux…
And if you fancy a dance, you should know that when the warmer weather returns, the jardin Tino-Rossi, quai Saint-Bernard, turns into a giant open-air dance floor on certain evenings during the week.
