Getting to Paris from Orly Airport: a practical guide

La Rédaction Paris je t'aime -
As Paris’s second-largest airport, Orly offers a wide range of transport options for easy access to the capital

Located 10 km south of Paris, straddling the departments of Essonne and Val-de-Marne, Paris-Orly Airport offers a range of convenient transport options. Whether you choose the metro, tram or taxi, getting to the heart of the Île-de-France region is quick and easy.

🎯How to get to Orly Airport: metro, shuttle, taxi and public transport

📌Reaching central Paris by metro on line 14

Since 24 June 2024, the automated Metro Line 14 has revolutionised access to Orly Airport, allowing you to reach central Paris (Gare de Lyon, Châtelet) in just 20 minutes. This express service stops at Orly Airport station, ideally situated right next to Orly Terminal 3, whilst remaining easily accessible from other areas of the airport. To use this service, you must have a specific ticket, the Paris Region <> Airports Ticket, which costs €14 (price valid as of 1 January 2026). Please note that holders of a Navigo pass or a Paris Visite covering zones 1 to 5 can travel on this line at no extra cost.

📌Using the Orlyval, the RER B or the T7 tram

The Orlyval, a high-performance automated shuttle running every 5 minutes, remains a strategic option for reaching Antony station. From there, the connection with the RER B allows you to cross Paris from south to north. For travellers looking for a budget option or heading to the south of the capital, the T7 tram connects Terminal 4 directly to Villejuif-Louis Aragon station, the terminus of metro line 7, in around 35 to 40 minutes. It is important to note that the Orlybus service has ceased operations since 3 March 2025; passengers are now advised to use Metro line 14 for greater efficiency.

📌Alternative bus routes for an economical journey

Although Line 14 is the fastest, other bus options allow you to reach the city centre or the suburbs at a lower cost. The 183 bus is an attractive alternative: it connects the airport to the Pont de Rungis station, where you can catch the RER C, or continues its journey to Porte de Choisy (connection to Metro line 7 and tram T3a). For travellers heading east or south-east, line 91-10 provides a direct link to Massy-TGV station.

If you are travelling at night, the Noctilien network takes over between midnight and 5.30 am. Four main lines serve the airport:

  • N22: connects Orly to Châtelet station
  • N31: provides a service to Gare de Lyon
  • N131 and N144: complete the night-time service to central Paris and neighbouring towns. Orly 4 only for the N144

Although these journeys take longer (allow around 60 minutes to reach the city centre), they are a more economical option for those on a tight budget. For stays at Disneyland® Paris, the Magical Shuttle (formerly the VEA shuttle) also offers regular departures from all terminals.

📌Travelling by taxi or private hire vehicle from the terminals

For maximum comfort and a drop-off right at your destination, official taxis are available 24 hours a day at the terminal exits. They apply a regulated flat-rate fare for journeys to the capital: expect to pay €36 to reach the Left Bank and €45 for the Right Bank. This service is complemented by numerous private hire car services and private shuttles operated by major Parisian hotels, offering total flexibility to suit your needs and the amount of luggage you have.
