❓Frequently asked questions

Where can you leave your suitcase in a luggage storage facility in Paris?

You can leave your suitcase in the secure left-luggage facilities at Parisian railway stations (Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon, Montparnasse, Gare de l’Est, Austerlitz), at 24/7 self-service points (City Locker, Lock & Enjoy!, Stow Your Bags) or at luggage storage facilities at partner shops and hotels near the main monuments (Nannybag, Bounce, Stasher).

Is the City Locker service safe in Paris?

Yes, City Locker is a 100% secure and fully automated solution. The premises are under 24-hour CCTV surveillance, access to the lockers is via a unique personal code provided when you make your booking, and each item of luggage stored is covered by insurance included in the price.

How much does luggage storage cost in Paris?

At Parisian railway stations, expect to pay between €5.50 and €9.50 for 24 hours, depending on the size of the locker. At self-service lockers or with partner retailers (Nannybag, Bounce, City Locker), the rate generally varies between €5 and €7.50 per day per item of luggage, or even from €0.95 per hour depending on the provider chosen.

Can you leave your suitcase in museums and monuments in Paris?

For security reasons (the Vigipirate plan), most Parisian museums and monuments do not accept bulky suitcases or large travel bags. Only small rucksacks or cabin-sized luggage are generally permitted in the free or paid cloakrooms at cultural venues.

Is it possible to book a luggage storage facility in advance?

Yes, it is strongly recommended that you book your luggage storage in advance, particularly during peak tourist season. Luggage storage services offered by retailers (Nannybag, Bounce, Stasher) as well as automated locker facilities (City Locker) offer secure online booking and payment via their websites or mobile apps.

Are luggage lockers in Paris open 24 hours a day?

Luggage lockers located in Parisian railway stations follow the stations’ opening hours (generally from 6 am to 11 pm). However, several automated luggage storage chains (such as City Locker) and certain hotels partnered with the Nannybag network/ Bounce offer 24/7 access.

What should I do if my suitcase is larger than the standard locker size?

If your luggage is oversized (sports equipment, pushchairs, very large bags), opt for luggage storage facilities at partner shops or hotels (Nannybag, Stasher, Bounce), which have larger storage spaces than standard automated lockers.
