Paris 2024 : A marathon for all!

In the steps of the Paris Marathon 2024, now it's your turn to put on the Olympic athletes' bib

The “Marathon Pour Tous » (‘Marathon For All’) is two races in the heart of the capital along the route of the Paris Marathon 2024. This event is a first, as no such ‘general public’ event has ever been organized in the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Two different distances for two different routes, all to include and bring together the maximum number of participants around the magic of sport.
The date is set for 10 August 2024 from 9pmonwards on the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville in Paris.

From the square in front of Paris City Hall to the Esplanade des Invalides, the first route is a distance of 42.195 km. It is the ideal event for those who are at least 20 years old and are looking to challenge themselves by completing the same distance and course as the Olympic athletes.

Runners pass through Boulogne-Billancourt, Sèvres, Ville d’Avray, Versailles, Viroflay, Chaville and Meudon and then along the Seine at Issy-Les-Moulineaux to Invalides. An historic route awaits runners past the finest monuments in the Paris region, for an emotionally-charged moment where sport, competition and surpassing oneself become one.

From Paris City Hall to Invalides, the second route is 10 km long. A shorter event, suitable for people aged 16 and over, and open to all, including people with disabilities. Put on your race bib and experience the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to the full by becoming a real competitor in a festive atmosphere and a course steeped in history.

Women are in the spotlight for one of the premier events of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Contrary to the usual timetable, it is not the men's event that closes the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, but the women's event, which kicks off on Sunday 11 August 2024 from 8 am. The men’s event takes place the day before, on Saturday 10 August 2024 from 8 am. The route is also a tribute to women as it is a reference to a key episode of the French Revolution: The Women’s march on Versailles, on 5 October 1789.

The 42.195 km route of this iconic Olympic event is particularly demanding for this 2024 edition in Paris: 436 metres of ascent, 438 metres of descent and a maximum gradient of 13.5%.

The public are invited to go along and cheer on the athletes along a spectacular route. The race starts at Paris City Hall and finishes on the Esplanade des Invalides after passing many landmark sites including the Palais Garnier opera house, the Louvre Museum and its Pyramid, the Musée national de céramique de Sèvres, the Palace of Versailles (kilometre 23), the forest of Meudon and the Eiffel Tower (kilometre 38). Not to miss!
