At the heart of Paris, discover one of the greatest achievements of Louis XIV’s reign: the Hôtel national des Invalides. Recognizable in the Parisian skyline by its gilding, the famous Dome has been hosting since 1861 the monumental tomb of Napoleon I.
Built to house veterans and wounded soldiers, this prestigious location is now also the home of the musée de l’Armée, which possesses one of the largest collections of military history and art. Armors of the kings of France, weapons, uniforms, painting, photographs … Take a deep dive into History from the Middle Ages to the present day, with over 500 000 objects to admire.
Beyond the artefacts, interactive digital devices allow visitors to get a better understanding of some of the battles that forged our History, particularly in the rooms dedicated to the two world wars, as well as the Historial Charles de Gaulle.
