The Jardin d'Acclimatation is a modern and renowned enclave of calm and entertainment located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, a stone's throw from Porte Maillot. The place is ideal for a family moment for the greatest pleasure of young and old.
Extending over more than 18 hectares, the Jardin d’Acclimatation is a one-of-a-kind space for relaxation. Long winding paths, ancient oaks, rolling lawns, and banks lined with cherry trees come together to create a natural world that will appeal to those in search of peace as well as sporty types.
The Jardin d’Acclimatation, oldest leisure park in Paris, is now reconnecting with its long past. A relic of the Second Empire, opened by Napoléon III, it is full of remarkable architecture, with bronze and copper structures as well as 19th-century-style metal beams. In addition to these features, it now resembles how it looked during the belle époque, when the Jardin d’Acclimatation was made up of large open or shaded expanses of grass, for Parisians to get some fresh air and children to amuse themselves.
The perfect place to relax and walk on fine days!
With its 42 rides, the Jardin d’Acclimatation is home to a unique amusement park: the legendary little train (which dates from 1878!) is in service, starting from Porte Maillot, and there is also the possibility of renting a boat on the beautiful Enchanted River since 1927. The rides area is brand new: the roller coaster are adorned with speed rockets and steam engines.
Apart from the period attractions, the Jardin d’Acclimatation now has 17 new rides! As fun as they are varied, some notable rides for visitors to discover include ‘Astrolabe’, ‘La Toupie’, ‘Crazy Frogs’, ‘Speed Rockets’, Sidecars turbos, Flying Boats...! Not for the faint-hearted!
For younger visitors, there are outdoor play areas all over the park: a paddling pool, the Dry Fountain, the Bear’s Den, crazy mirrors, and forest adventures will keep kids entertained for hours.
Other activities allow for beautiful and playful discoveries, in a calm and serene space: the Small Farm, the Large Aviary - enriched with interior fittings to get to know the exotic species better -, pony rides, but also the apiary, the vegetable garden, the Alpine rock or the Belvédère de l'Impératrice, which allow you to discover the animals.
Finally, a show offers moments of laughter and wonder thanks to Guignol. And for a cultural escape into the world of contemporary art, visitors can take a quick walk to the nearby Fondation Louis Vuitton.
Good deal: visitors with a ticket to the Fondation Louis Vuitton have free access to the Jardin d'Acclimatation (the attractions are not included)
