It all begins in front of the Duluc Detective agency. If you remember: in Midnight in Paris, a detective (Gad Elmaleh) is given the job of keeping Gil (Owen Wilson) under surveillance.
What about you? Do you need the help of a private detective to unravel the mysteries of the Da Vinci Code? Direction the Louvre! You enter via the glass Pyramid that fascinated Professor Langdon (Tom Hanks). You visit the scene of the crime, the Grand Gallery. In the Denon wing, you also recognize the Daru staircase opposite the statue of the Victory of Samothrace, and numerous paintings: La Vierge aux rochers, Noli Me Tangere, La Vierge, Sainte Anne et l’Enfant Jésus, La Mort de la Vierge, Les Noces de Cana, and of course, The Mona Lisa. The red rooms and the inverted Pyramid will also arouse a few memories …
On leaving the Louvre, you stay with Professor Langdon and Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou) and admire the Seine from the Pont du Carrousel. A crazy race across Paris starts from this bridge.
If you are in a romantic mood then the pont des Arts is a must. It is the place for loving couples from around the world. This bridge recently appeared in the final scene of Insaisissables, but also in the animated film A Monster in Paris, in The Devil Wears Prada and in the fourth season of the cult series Gossip Girl. Finally, if fantasy films are your favourite, walk to pont Royal: the pterodactyl monster from The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec made its first appearance here! After so much excitement, you’ll probably like to have a break in the Tuileries Gardens, like Gil and Inez, Woody Allen’s heroes. Daydream for a while amongst the avenues of trees, statues and ornamental ponds, and then succumb to the charm of the Water Lilies. The monumental water lily paintings by Claude Monet are exhibited in the musée de l’Orangerie, which is situated in the gardens.
From the Tuileries, you’ll find yourself in place de la Concorde, like Andy (Anne Hathaway) the young heroine from The Devil Wears Prada, when she realizes during fashion week that the ruthless world of fashion is not for her. If, unlike Andy, you wish to continue your tour of luxury Paris, head to place Vendôme. Professor Langdon stays at no.15 The Ritz hotel. Andy and her boss, the intimidating Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), preferred another luxury hotel, Sofitel Le Scribe Paris Opéra.
On your way there, you’ll pass in front of the legendary Paris show venue, Olympia. In the biopic La Vie en Rose, Edith Piaf played by Marion Cotillard, (Oscar 2008 for best actress), gives a series of unforgettable concerts here.A few steps away, don’t miss the elegant Place Édouard VII, one of the settings chosen by Martin Scorsese in Hugo. The little boy crosses this square in the snow in pursuit of the toy seller who confiscated his notebook. Whether it is snowing or not, stop for a break in place de l’Opéra. The Café de la Paix awaits you! There are two types of ambience: the belle époque charm of the Aristocats or the frantic rhythm of Rush Hour 3, ready for new adventures alongside Carter (Chris Tucker) and Lee (Jackie Chan)!
