Created at the same time as the Palais Garnier Opera House, the main purpose of the Place de l'Opéra is to offer passers-by the finest view of the magnificent facade of the Palais Garnier Opera House.
Frequented in all seasons by tourists, this square is the crossroads of several major Parisian roads, notably the avenue de l'Opéra, the boulevard des Capucines, and the boulevard des Italiens.
The redevelopment of the square took place under Haussmann who wanted to facilitate the circulation of traffic in the district. An ideal spot for a photo or a kiss.
