Luminous arches, multi-coloured bulbs, incandescent flames and sparkling projections of light splendidly deck out the avenues of the French capital.
More than ever, Paris lives up to its name ‘the 'City of Light'! From November to the beginning of January, the Christmas illuminations on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, on Avenue Montaigne are switched on each year by a celebrity, in Place Vendôme, the Montmartre district, Bercy Village and in many other places across the city make Paris more magical than ever!
Shops are also getting into the spirit of winter, decked out in their finest colours. The festive decorations on the facades of Parisian department stores (Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps Haussmann, the Samaritaine are attractions in a class of their own!
