On the model of speakeasy, those clandestine bars hidden in the back of shops at the time of Prohibition in the United States, you will find in Paris many cocktail bars hidden in the back of a pizzeria, a Mexican restaurant, or even a laverie automatique.
These include the Moonshiner, the bar at Maison Souquet, Candelaria and Lavomatic.
But the most romantic cocktail bar in Paris is undoubtedly the Bisou.

Are you dreaming of a romantic evening, gazing into each other's eyes and sipping good wines by candlelight, with the expert advice of the owners?
Then make a date with your loved one in Charonne to discover the Cave du Septime, in Halles to go to Ô Chateau, or in Saint-Germain-des-Prés for an evening with the Compagnie de vins surnaturels.
The oldest bar in Paris devoted entirely to this festive drink is Le Dokhan's, in the Radisson Blu hotel, near the Trocadéro. Wood panelling, mirrors and candles make up the décor of this prestigious venue.
And for an experience at the top, head for the Eiffel Tower where a campagne counter offers you the chance to enjoy a glass of champagne with a breathtaking view of Paris at an altitude of 276 metres!
For a more intimate experience, head to Dilettantes, a charming cellar in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The only one of its kind, this wine shop offers some 130 references of champagnes.

Push open the doors of the great Parisian hotels even if you haven't booked a room. You'll find some pretty bars hidden from view for an intimate evening by the fire in the bar of the Hôtel Jules & Jim, in the greenery of the veranda of the Hôtel Amour, in a secret Montmartre patio at the Hôtel Particulier, or at the very trendy Hôtel Hoxton.
But the list of the most romantic hotel bars also includes chic palace bars such as the Peninsula, the Ritz, the Crillon or the Hôtel Meurice.

At the Pachamama, in a magnificent 3-storey building designed by Gustave Eiffel, you can dine, then enjoy a cocktail, and finally dance the night away if you feel like it. The same programme can be enjoyed under the grande verrière of the Alcazar or the Kong, as well as at the China.
