Cakes, ice-cream and other sweet delights

Cakes, ice-creams, candy floss for a gourmet treat

Parisian cake shops and ice-cream shops delight children and their parents!

Under the arcades on rue de Rivoli a short walk from the Louvre, Angelina serves its famous hot chocolate, accompanied by a little pot of whipped cream and its great speciality, the Mont-blanc.

On the Ile Saint-Louis, Berthillon has been adding to its range of ice-creams and sorbets since 1950 and now has an astonishing variety of flavours to titillate your taste buds, whatever your age: calisson, cappuccino, praline and pine nut, pineapple, white chocolate and tropical fruit cocktail …

The legendary Ladurée macaroons, on the Champs-Elysées, are another treat to sample with the family, and can always be packed away in your case to take home.  In parks and gardens or in squares, there are also kiosks selling crêpes, ice-cream and candy floss!

On the other hand, finding waffles is not so easy in Paris. They are not often sold in crêperies and tea rooms. You can find ‘real’ ones at Yves Camdeborde’s eatery L'Avant-Comptoir and ones to take away at the Jardin d'Acclimatation or on several of the busy shopping avenues.
