❓Frequently asked questions
What is the main aim of this work?
These works are aimed at the regeneration, modernisation and development of the transport network in Île-de-France (RER, Metro, Tram). They are essential to ensure the long-term reliability, safety and regularity of the services.
Which transport lines are most affected by these disruptions?
A: The major works mainly concern the RER B (with significant closures of the central section during the summer), as well as several Metro lines (notably lines 4, 6, 12, 13 and 14) and the T1 Tramway line.
Do the works only take place in the summer?
No. Disruptions are spread throughout the year. Works take place all day on certain specific weekends, but also in the evening (from 10.00 pm or 10.45 pm) on weekdays to minimise the impact on rush-hour traffic.
What alternative transport options are available in the event of closures?
Replacement buses are systematically provided on the affected sections. The precise routes of these shuttle services are detailed line by line to help you plan your journey.
Where can I find the latest information on a specific line?
For details of the works, particularly for lines not listed here (RER A, C, D, E, etc.), we recommend consulting the relevant sections of the article or visiting the transport operators’ official websites: Île-de-France Mobilités, RATP, Transilien SNCF.
