In order to continue its work of popularising science, the Palais de la Découverte currently operates in two locations in Paris, offering a rich programme of scientific and artistic discoveries suitable for all age groups.

The Palais des Enfants at the Grand Palais

The Palais des Enfants is the must-see destination for young children, targeting explorers aged 2 to 10. This innovative space is the result of a unique collaboration between art and science. It invites children to develop their sensitivity and critical thinking through immersive and sensory temporary exhibitions, such as the Transparence exhibition. They can explore the world through play, experimentation, manipulation and the discovery of works of art, making this place a laboratory for awakening the senses.

Les Étincelles at the Palais de la Découverte

Les Étincelles welcomes curious minds aged 6 and over. This temporary site offers the DNA of the historic establishment: more than a hundred interactive presentations and participatory workshops, supervised by passionate scientific mediators, covering fields such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology. Older visitors can also enjoy the Planetarium for an introduction to astronomy.

Have fun and relax at the Jardin d’Acclimatation

Renovated in 2018, the Jardin d’Acclimatation has a new lease of life! With 18 hectares of land in an ideal location on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, this park is highly popular with families. Its 40 attractions will delight your kids, be they toddlers or teens, and if you’re lucky, you’ll run into some of the Jardin’s 400 four-legged residents!

The Musée de l’Homme is dedicated to human beings, their history and their future. The museum’s permanent collection is one of the richest in the world in terms of anthropology. The app ‘Allen enquête au Musée de l’Homme’ (in French only, English coming soon) gets children aged 8-12 unravelling the mysteries of Man on a mission to Earth. Puzzle booklets are available for children aged 4-6 and 7-11 to awaken the budding researchers inside them.
