The 3rd edition of the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup to be held in Paris at the Stade Charléty in summer 2026
In the wake of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the capital is hosting a major sporting event: the 3rd edition of the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup (CIFU). This competition embodies inclusion by bringing together 24 teams composed of athletes with and without intellectual disabilities (known as unified partners). This is a world first, as the Unified Soccer World Cup has always been held in the United States. It’s worth noting that the event holds special significance for France, which was crowned World Champion in 2018 in Chicago. From July 6 to 11, 2026, Charléty Stadium will become the world capital of inclusive soccer, reaffirming the legacy of the Paris 2024 Games in the field of parasports.
After the popular success of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, it's time to look at the impact - both tangible and intangible - that they have left on the capital and the Île-de-France region.
