Launched officially in June 2025, the Club Culture programme recognizes places that through their activity support artistic creation, production and programming of artists and DJs. A fine recognition for nightclubs and nightlife venues and their cultural value.
The Paris nightlife scene is no secret (Paris is a party!) and has been a vibrant source of creativity: the emergence of the French Touch, electronic music and nightclubs in Saint-Germain-des-Prés… The French capital even came third in the ranking of the best cities in the world to party in 2025 (behind Las Vegas and Madrid) according to Time Out. It was therefore high time that the importance of club culture was recognized.
And now it's happened! In June 2025, the French ministry of culture introduced the programme Club Culture – a place for artistic expression and partying. This initiative recognizes places, referred to as nightclubs, or dance floors, which through their programming, production and distribution of concerts and live performances encourage artistic creation and DJ artists. These places play an important cultural role in their work in discovering artists and upcoming new talents as well as inthe diversity of cultural practices and musical aesthetics that they showcase throughout the country.
To qualify for certification, nightclubs must also be committed to equality, particularly for women and minorities, and actively involved in preventing gender-based and sexual violence, as well as reducing risks in party environments.
In June 2025, 16 establishments in France - including 11 in Paris - were awarded this important certification.
