As of 16 October 2014, the neoclassical front of the Gare du Nord is lit up every night until 1am from June to September and until midnight the rest of the year.

Located in the heart of the 10th arrondissement and just a ten-minute walk from the Gare de l'Est, the Gare du Nord is Europe's leading station and the world's 3rd busiest, welcoming over 220 million visitors a year. Trains from the station serve the north of France, as well as international destinations such as London via Eurostar, Belgium and the Netherlands via Thalys, and Germany. It was inaugurated on 14 June 1846 with the opening of the Paris-Amiens-Lille line. Today we can admire its modern neoclassical style and its majestic façade adorned with twenty-three statues by famous sculptors. The station is divided into four main areas: the Eurostar Terminal - home to 6.6 million passengers - offering a wide range of shops dedicated to pleasure and gifts; the Quai Transversal is the lively heart of the station, offering a wide range of Parisian and international restaurants; levels -1 and -2 - where hundreds of thousands of passengers pass through every day on the many metro and RER lines - offer a range of services tailored to everyday travellers.

Rates:

Locker fees (flat-rate fee for initial 24-hour rental period): small locker - €5.50; medium locker - €7.50; large locker - €9.50. Then €5 per each additional 24-hour period.

The station is open every day (including public holidays) from 4.30am to 1am. Automatic luggage lockers are available every day (including public holidays) from 6am to 11.15pm - Level -1, access by escalators and stairs, opposite track 3 and next to the rue de Maubeuge exit.
The tourist information welcome centre is open 7 days a week (except 25 December, 1 January and 1 May) from 9am to 5pm.
