Funfairs and merry-go-rounds in Paris

Funfairs, adrenaline-packed attractions or traditional merry-go-rounds … Paris offers a large choice of entertainment for all the family.

Paris funfairs to enjoy with the kids

Come summer, the Jardin des Tuileries in the heart of Paris becomes a magnet for children with the return of the annual fête foraine, packed with attractions for people of all ages.

Also in summer, the Fête à Neu-Neu in the Bois de Boulogne in autumn and the Foire du Trône on the Pelouse de Reuilly in spring draw eager crowds. Children will love the colourful rides and the sugary fairground staples on sale at these bustling events.

Open all year round, the Jardin d’Acclimatation has a variety of attractions and amusement stands: a good option for an afternoon family outing.

Merry-go-rounds, manèges in French, are timeless attractions and a firm favourite with toddlers. Wooden horses, exotic animals, motorbikes and even space ships … In Paris, there are merry-go-rounds galore for kids to ride on.

Designed by the architect of the Palais Garnier Opera House, the Garnier merry-go-round in the Luxembourg Gardens is a veritable work of art. Equally famous, the 1913 merry-go-round in the Champ de Mars is completely ecological and made of traditional wooden horses. And to complete this list of historic places, the Forum des Halles merry-go-round with its traditional decor is a wonderful sight that all the family will appreciate.

The City Hall merry-go-round is quite a special one. It is one of the biggest in Paris and has two impressive floors. Higher still, on the hill at Montmartre is the Sacré-Cœur merry-go-round, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the Paris.

Finally, the Supersonic merry-go-round in the 11th arrondissement and the Dodo merry-go-round in the Jardin des Plantes offer kids the chance to pilot hi-tech vessels and ride astride extinct animals like dinosaurs and sivatheriums.
