Accommodation for young people

Youth hostels and accommodation centres : all the tips for young people in Paris.

Paris is part of the world network of youth hostels and continues to expand. It now counts 19 hostels and 2,275 beds.   To stay in one of these you need to be a holder of a youth hostel card. Dormitories for 4, 6 or 8 people are open to the international public and have a friendly atmosphere. They are managed by non-profit making associations, a fact that guarantees attractive prices.   There are also youth accommodation centres in the capital. These centres offer stays for individuals or groups at very competitive prices and also offer cultural and sports activities.   The hostels are an economical and pleasant way to stay in the capital. For less than 25 euros, rooms are simple and comfortable with or without a private bathroom, plus services like Internet, launderette, breakfast, etc.   The majority of Paris’s 19 hostels are affiliated with a group or network; HipHopHostels is currently the largest hostel network in Paris, while the Saint Christopher’s Inn, at the end of La Villette basin, has over 350 beds alone.   A B&B** project is due to open shortly at the Porte des Lilas (mid-2013). The B&B will have 263 bedrooms, meeting rooms, a restaurant and even parking spaces. Dominique Perrault is the architect behind this innovative project, which is particularly exemplary from an environmental perspective, and Vinci, the property developer.   A 330-bed youth hostel is due to open in the 18th arrondissement at the end of 2013, in the very heart of the Pajol redevelopment zone, a former SNCF site spanning 3 hectares, where locals and tourists will be able to meet.   At Porte d’Ivry in the 13th arrondissement, another youth accommodation venue (Maison Internationale de séjour) is planned as part of the redevelopment project of the Joseph Bédier zone. This venue will offer 205 rooms and numerous services.

Young individuals and groups can stay at these accommodation centres for young people for rock-bottom prices and enjoy cultural and sports activities.
