The Paris Tropical Carnival on the theme "Paris V'iles Lumières" in 2026
On the first Sunday in July, exoticism takes hold of Paris. The city comes alive with the traditional Carnaval Tropical. Organized by Paris City Hall, in collaboration with the Fédération du Carnaval Tropical de Paris, the Carnaval Tropical showcases traditional music and dance groups from all over France, as well as from the French West Indies (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion and French Guiana). More distant countries are also honored. These included China, Brazil and Colombia. In the early afternoon, more than 4,000 dancers and a dozen floats from all over the world parade down the Champs-Élysées. A convivial and exotic event to share. The route takes in the Champs-Élysées avenue and culminates in a grand finale between the Grand and Petit Palais, avenue Winston Churchill, offering a vibrant and colorful spectacle.
