A nous les stades ! Une histoire du sport au féminin - Cultural Olympiad

This exhibition at the BnF retraces the battles fought by women to achieve equality in sport

As part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Bibliothèque nationale de France is presenting a free exhibition tracing the history of women's sport since the end of the 19th century. The exhibition highlights the challenges faced by women in their sporting activities, which are marked by persistent inequalities compared to their male counterparts. It also highlights the evolution of gender norms through physical performance, clothing choices and bodily behaviour.
