From 29 August to 14 September 2031

Designated by FIBA in April 2026, France is preparing to vibrate to the rhythm of the orange ball for the first time. A global event that will place Paris at the heart of the game

It's official: from August 29 to September 14, 2031, France becomes the epicenter of world basketball. For this historic edition, the country has been chosen to host the Men's World Cup, a first for French soil. While many major cities are buzzing with excitement, Paris is the beating heart of the competition, hosting the finals and the most prestigious matches. On the strength of its unrivalled expertise in hosting the world's biggest events (Paris Olympic Games 2024, European Swimming Championships 2026...) France is breathing new life into world sport by transforming the capital into an immense playground. The tournament is already shaping up to be a national celebration, driven by the new golden generation of French basketball and the unprecedented enthusiasm for the NBA and Euroleague. Between popular fervor and state-of-the-art infrastructures, the country promises a total immersion in basketball culture, where the biggest international stars and fans from all over the world will come together.
While the competition will be held throughout France, the capital is home to some of the most emblematic venues. The three Parisian venues tipped to host the matches: Accor Arena, adidas arena and La Défense Arena. The other French host cities are Lyon and Villeneuve-d'Ascq (Lille).
