From 29 August to 14 September 2031

Selected by FIBA in April 2026, France is getting ready to rock to the rhythm of basketball for the first time. This global event will put Paris at the center of the action

It’s official: From August 29 to September 14, 2031, France will become the epicenter of world basketball. For this historic edition, the country has been chosen to host the Men’s World Cup—a first for France. While excitement is sweeping through several major cities, Paris is the beating heart of the competition, hosting the final rounds and the most prestigious games. Building on its unparalleled expertise in hosting major global events (the 2024 Paris Olympics, the 2026 European Swimming Championships, etc.), France is breathing new life into the global sports scene by transforming the capital into a massive playground. This tournament is already shaping up to be a national celebration, fueled by the new golden generation of French basketball and the unprecedented enthusiasm for the NBA and the EuroLeague. Combining public enthusiasm with state-of-the-art facilities, the country promises a total immersion in basketball culture, where the biggest international stars will meet fans from around the world.
While the competition takes place throughout France, the capital is home to the most iconic venues. The three Parisian venues under consideration to host the matches are the Accor Arena, the adidas Arena, and La Plenitude Arena. The other host cities in France are Lyon and Villeneuve-d'Ascq (Lille).
