Le Shangri-La Paris, situated at 10, avenue d’Iéna (16th), is housed in the former mansion house built in 1896 for Prince Roland Bonaparte, the great-nephew of Napoléon. The palace has 54 huge bedrooms with a view of the city and the Seine; its 27 suites are amongst the most spacious in Paris. The 275 m2 Suite Impériale, the largest and most luxurious of this 5-star hotel, is situated in the former private apartment of Roland Bonaparte and is a listed historical monument. For Eiffel Tower enthusiasts, the Eiffel Premier bedrooms offer a unique view of the most famous monument in Paris. The historic building was redesigned by the architect Richard Martinet and decorated in the Empire style by designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. The interior garden is the work of landscape architect Louis Benech. Under the leadership of chef Philippe Labbé, the Palace offers two restaurants: Shang Palace, France’s only Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant; and La Bauhinia, situated under the grand 19th century glass dome roof. Le Bar Botaniste and its adjoining lounges are a relaxing space with Imperial French decor, perfect for enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine.
A Palace isn’t a Palace without a spa, so the Shangri-La offers guests its own wellness space, Chi, with a treatment room, 24-hour fitness centre with the option of a personal trainer and a 16 m swimming pool opening onto a 94 m2 terrace. As well as its refined bedrooms equipped with the latest technology and the high-quality service that has made it famous in Asia, the hotel stands out with its perfect location close to the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Élysées.The reception offers 850 m2 of space, notably including two magnificent salons with entirely restored decor that are listed Historical Monuments. The Grand Salon with its period chandeliers (150 people) and the Salon Roland Bonaparte (310 people) are fully equipped for conferences, weddings and other events. From these Salons Historiques, guests can access the Eiffel Terrace with its breathtaking view of the Tower. The Shangri-La Paris is directed by Guy Bertaud, who has worked in some of the greatest hotels in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Inaugurated in December 2010, this palace was the first hotel to open in Europe for this luxury Asian chain founded in Hong Kong.
