STREET/NEIGHBOURHOOD OF INTEREST

Rue Daguerre

Rue Daguerre - 75014 Paris Montparnasse - Alésia
Take a stroll down rue Daguerre, which runs between avenue du Général Leclerc and avenue du Maine, and enjoy its village atmosphere, boutiques, pavement cafes, wine shops, bakeries and other food shops. At number 63, peek through the carriage entrance to discover the Cité artisanale, a former workers’ housing development, now a quiet paved cul-de-sac lined with pot plants. At 86 rue Daguerre is a little pink house where film director Agnès Varda used to live. The section of the street between rue Boulard and avenue du Général Leclerc is pedestrianized, and the whole street is traffic-free on Sundays and bank holidays between 10:00am and 6:00pm. In the evenings and at weekends it’s popular with locals as a place to meet up.
