The history of the Fontaine des Innocents, built by the architect Pierre Lescot under Henri IV. Located in the heart of Paris, it was modified and moved several times before being installed in its current location in the Les Halles district. In the Renaissance style, the fountain is decorated with mythological scenes and creatures. A popular neighbourhood meeting place, it is surrounded by restaurants and cafés, and the Pompidou Centre is a stone’s throw away.
