The Afro-Brazilian parade ‘Lavage de la Madeleine’ is celebrating its 20th anniversary. From 1 to 4 September, the public can discover this vibrant and colourful festival, inspired by the Saint Patron de Salvador da Bahia.
On the programme: a festive week throughout Paris with Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Carlinhos Brown, Daniela Mercury ... Book launch of ‘Lavage de la Madeleine - 20 ans d'histoire’, by Jota Velloso, launch of the film ‘Madeleine à Paris’ by Liliane Mutti, launch of the single ‘Madeleine Abençoar’, the first ‘Tourisme Durable France/Brazil’ encounter.
And the highlight of the festival, the big parade with a musical float (trio electric). Decked out in flowers and dressed in white, the procession winds its way through the streets of Paris in a musical and joyful atmosphere. Musicians join together to get the crowd dancing! An event to enjoy with friends and family!
